Stop "Living A Little" | Weekly Wisdom

Is your body a Ferrari or a 1990 Corolla?

You put premium fuel in a sports car, but what fuel do you put in you?

Too many people want a body like a Ferrari, yet their actions and the way they fuel that Ferrari, is like it’s an old 1990 Hyundai. It still gets you from A-B, might have a few hiccups along the way, a stop in at the mechanics, definitely not a drive thats smooth sailing, the AC probably doesn’t work, even though it’s a hot summers day. Oh, and you probably wouldn’t drive that bad boy too far, it would could leave you stuck on the side of the road, with a big sticker on your forehead saying “mission failed”.

You see, the great thing about life is that we get to chooooossseeee what car we cruise through life with. It doesn’t have a $500,000 price tag attached to it like the shiny red one does in the dealership.

The pricetag is a little different. It’s a change in lifestyle. A way of living that makes you opt in for that steak and sweet potato, instead of the cheeky burrito at the local Mexican down the road. That evening walk instead of watching the YouTube video you’ve had your eye on all day. When you had 4 sets of bench press to do on your gym program, you don’t call it quits at 2 sets because you’re “tired”. You follow through on the things you know are good for ya. You push through on the days you don’t want to. You finish it, whatever it is, find out what’s on the other side, overcome, conquer, critique, improve. You level up from the person you were yesterday.

Now, that’s the pricetag… Let me tell you, with everything said and done, it’s a bargain. I’d pay it two fold.

The feeling I have when my body is firing on all cylinders, maaaann its like I’ve just put that 98 in my car, I can fly through town.

The feeling I have when I can take my shirt off wherever I like because I love who I see in the mirror, is one that makes me feel freeee, confident, capable and proud.

The feeling I have when I do a little less yawning, I’m a little less dizzy, sore, tired, stressed, overwhelmed, maaaann, I can sum it up in one word: unstoppable.

l only put premium fuel in my car and I like to do the same for my body.

When I'm eating whole foods, training my body consistently and not drinking alcohol, everything else in my life becomes easier.

Everyone seems to look at the sacrifice required to eat good and not drink alcohol but no one seems to look at the sacrifice of doing the opposite.

The old saying "live a little" is so true

You're only living a little… When you start to treat your body like a temple you start to live far more than just 'a little'

You feel alive. Don't knock it till you try it

Or are you too lazy to even try?

Besides, here is a promise I can make to you:

When you start to live in this way, you start to enjoy this type of living more than anything else. Well, of course you do, you feel unstoppable.

The steak and sweet potato in yummier than the burrito.

You prefer going on the walk than watching the YouTube video.

You want to finish the 4 sets of bench press because you like how accomplished you feel after it.

Ultimately, what happens is, it becomes more enjoyable, and when something is more enjoyable, you’re way more likely to stick to it.

Make it a way of living, not just a “new years resolution” or a “diet to get in shape”

A diet may get you the body like a Ferrari, but it wont keep it. The wheels will spin out on a wet day and the car will get totalled.

When you make it a way of living, not only will you keep the Ferrari, but you’ll actually enjoy driving it as well.
